Aruz is not a neko; nor some sort of animal deity. She is a figment of Prince Reningald’s imagination made real. This is why she has no family or anyone to take care of her but the prince and whoever he assigns to take care of the imagined girl. She cannot age unless the prince wishes it, and can be banished from existing as quick as a snap if he wishes it. Aruz is a cartographer at the age of 11 [mainly because this is what the prince imagined her as], and uses runes to attack if she's needed to fight.

The scar on the left side of her face is from a battle that Reningald forced her into. Her opponent had used the fireplace behind both of them and took hold of her, smashing her face into the embers. Although she could easily heal it, she says she wants it as proof to Reninglad's cruelty.

The runic set she uses most often are three runes that make up her name along with two others. That makes it 'ûruz', 'raidô', 'algiz', 'îsaz' and 'kaunan'. 'Ansuz', the A for her name, is something she never uses but always wears around her neck for a precaution. In that order, the powers of the runes at her disposal are the strength of an ox, teleportation, quickness of a deer, power over ice, and the ability to make someone ill. Each of these only last a couple of minutes with almost devastating results afterwards, almost completely sapping her of energy. Hence this is why Aruz hardly enters battles; her physical state is scrawny and undeveloped, which would leave her with only her runic ability as a weapon.
